Introduction

LZEver since I gained my first diploma in English language teaching in 1997, I have been working in education: first as a primary teacher of English and biology, and then as a language instructor in a private school in Budapest, Hungary. In 1999, I got my master’s degree in English language and literature, and in the coming years I did a number of training courses including business English, teaching English one-to-one, as well as numerous language examiner courses. I completed my doctoral studies in English applied linguistics and TEFL / TESOL at the University of Pécs, and gained my PhD summa cum laude in language testing and assessment in 2013. I am an individual member of the European Association for Language Testing and Assessment (EALTA), and the Hungarian Association of Language Examiners and Measurement Specialists. I regularly attend the annual EALTA conference, participate in the pre-conference workshops, and I am an active member of the CEFR Special Interest Group, as well.

Currently I am employed as an assistant professor at the Budapest Business School, a state university of applied sciences, but I also work freelance as a research and validation analyst for Euroexam International, Budapest. Since August 2014, I have been a member of the Hungarian Accreditation Board for Foreign Language Examinations. In February 2017, I was invited to teach research design and statistics for doctoral students at the Unversity of Pécs. My primary research interests include language testing, measurement theory, applications of test theory in large-scale assessment, and CEFR-based measurement.
